: I have a question about the Chinese Zodiac.

: When I look up what my sign is supposed to be sometimes I am a sheep and sometimes I am a horse......! (I was born on the 3rd February 1967). Is there a particular reason why there is this discrepancy - are there different ways of calculating what you are?!

People who were born between 1/21/1966 and 2/8/1967
belong to the year of the Horse.

People who were born between 2/9/67 and 1/30/1968
belong to the year of the Ram.

Most people who are not familiar with the Chinese
zodiac convey the wrong message that whoever was
born in 1966 belong to the Horse and whoever was born
in 1967 belong to the Ram.

The discrepancy arises because the Chinese New Year
does not fall on Jan 1st of each year, but can be
on any day between Jan and Feb. This date governs
the Zodiac sign change. In 1967, the Chinese New
Year was on 2/9/67. People who were born
in 1967 and have birthdays before Feb 9th are
Horses, while people with birthdays after or on
Feb 9th are Rams.

Hope this answers your questions.
