: : My last name is Deamer, I have looked and looked to find the orgin of the name and have had no luck. I think that the name is Irish, English, or German and more than likely change from the name Deemer or deaner. I am looking for any backgound information on the name, meaning and where the name comes from. If able to find the information I would also like to know when it was changed or where in a time line it's use was changed?
: : This is not an issue that my Grandmother will talk about, though I'm not sure she knows the answer. Any help or information you can provide will be of a great help to me.

I married into the Deamer family and what I gather from my father in-law, is that the name is VonDeimerhaufen (spelling he was not to sure of anymore). It was told to me that the name is Prussian. After the war the grandfather moved his family out of Prussia and changed the name to Deamer. I hope this helps a little. I'm still searching the history.
