: I purchased an unusual donut-shaped wooden box in Guanzhou last year. I have since seen a similiar box pictured in a book about Chinese artifacts. It is called a chaozhu and was used to hold the court necklace during the Qing dynasty. Although I am fairly certain mine is a reproduction, I am interested in learning more about this unusual and beautiful piece. Please respond if you can provide any information about this object. Thank you.
