Qin Terra Cotta Soldiers and Horses

    This is the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty, who is known for building the Great Wall. The Qin Terra is in Lingtong of Shaanxi. The whole tomb occupies more than 56 square miles, used the labor of more than 700,000 people and took about 38 years to complete. There are three sites to the tomb. The first site is about 1.4 square meters in area, consisting about 60000 statues of soldiers and horses. As of 1994, the second site has not been fully explored yet. According to the legend, the tomb was built on a 'sea' of mercury, and the workers are taking special precautions in unearthing the artifact.
