Salvation comes from the grace of God, not by our works. Some important passages include Romans 5:15,9-10, 8:23-25,29-30, 1Peter 1:3-9.
First Stage (Justification)- Jesus paid the wages for our sins with His precious blood so that anyone who would come to Him shall receive eternal life (John 3:16). This gift of salvation comes from the grace of God, not based on our works (Romans 3:28).
Second Stage (Sanctification)- After being born again (as Christ has resurrected) as a Christian, we are being regenerated continually (1John 3:3) as guided by the Holy Spirit (John 14:16,17). To have faith is to be obedient (1John 5:2), and to be obedient is to love (1John 3:23-24), so that all men will know that we are Christs disciples (John 13:34-35).
Third Stage (Glorification)- We shall abide in Him (1John 2:28) until He returns.
Died for our sins
Raised from death
So that we are no longer under the wages of sin (Romans 6:23, John 3:16)
So that we are no longer under the power or control of sin (Romans 7:18-21, 2Cor 7:1, 5:17)
So that we are no longer under the presence of sin (2Thes 2:13-14, 1Cor 15:52-54, 2Peter 3:13, Rev 21:4)
Our sins are fully paid for by the blood of Christ (1Peter 2:24, 3:18)
Being born again, we are no longer controlled by sin, but by God (Romans 6:9-11)
Abide in Him until Jesus returns (Hebrew 9:28, Phil 3:20-21)
