    Cao Cao

Cao Caos father was an adopted son of Cao Song, a high ranking official. With an original surname of Xia Hou, Caos father (a native of Pei Guo) soon adopted his foster parents name. Because of this, Cao was in touch with the noble families at a young age. After Dong Zhuo led his army into the capital, he quickly erected Price Liu Xie as the puppet king, known as Xian Di. Cao Cao escaped to Chen Liu, mustered an punitive expedition army against Dong. In the third year of Chu Ping, Dong was killed by Wang Yun and Lu Bu, and both men were pursued by Dongs followers Li Jue and Guo Si. When Xian Di tried to escape from Changan with his officials, they were captured by Li and Guo. As advised by Xun Yu and Cheng Yu, Cao kidnapped Xian Di to Xu Chang and took charge of the administration by blackmailing the Emperor.
